Lockheed Martin Aircraft Electrical Power Systems Senior Engineer in Bethesda, Maryland
Become part of our team as an In-country Electrical Engineer for KF-X. This position will provide engineering technical assistance to the KF-X Engineering and Manufacturing Development program (EMD). KF-X is a South Korean program to develop an advanced multirole fighter for Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will report to the Electrical Systems & Specialty Technical Lead, will be located in Sacheon, South Korea, and report in-country in the third quarter of 2017.
The KF-X program is seeking a person with extensive Electrical Power System experience to serve as a primary POC for advising Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) engineers during EMD. The successful candidate will provide technical advice (to include training, guidance, support, and development assistance) on aircraft electrical power system design, development, analysis, integration, testing, and qualification. The candidate will provide assistance to ensure electrical power system designs are integrated to maximize overall electrical system level efficiency and functionality. Electrical power system consists of ac power generation system, flight control power system, dc power generation system, external power system, power distribution system, and battery system. In addition to strong technical skills the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount.
The selected candidate will have high proficiency in electrical systems and working knowledge of secondary mechanical power system including gear box, Airframe Mounted Accessory Drive (AMAD), and Auxilliary Power System (APS). Tasks shall include, but not be limited to; providing subject matter guidance, training and mentoring to the customer engineers.

Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience in aircraft Electrical Power Systems • Experience using technical expertise to develop and qualify electrical power systems • Experience using technical expertise to effectively manage supplier performance for the procurement of electrical power systems • Experience with the aircraft electric power characteristics spec (Mil-Std-704 or equivalent) and to applying to the electrical system design. • Experience with the aircraft electric load & power source capacity spec (Mil-E-7016 or equivalent) and ability to apply to the electrical load analysis • Experience using aircraft electrical system design to provide assessment aircraft design • Experience/skills mentoring and training other engineers • Experience working on diverse engineering teams • Experience with military or government programs
