Lockheed Martin In-Country Aircraft Stability and Control Engineer in Bethesda, Maryland

The KF-X program is seeking a person with extensive Stability and Control (Open-Loop Flying Qualities) experience to serve as a primary point of contact for advising KAI engineers. The successful candidate will provide technical advice (to include training, guidance, support, and development assistance) to KAI engineers while guiding concept development through the appropriate application of analysis methodologies, ground test, and flight test to achieve a balanced design solution that meets customer needs. In addition to strong technical skills the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount.

The selected candidate will have high proficiency in stability and control design and a good working knowledge of related engineering disciplines, especially flight controls. Tasks shall include, but not be limited to, providing subject matter expert guidance, training and mentoring to the customer for the following:

• Developing Wind Tunnel and Flight Test Plans • 6-Degree of Freedom (DOF) Database Development • Developing and analyzing Open Loop Flying Qualities requirements using 6-DOF database and off-line simulations • Analysis procedures in preparation for Critical Design Review (CDR), First Flight Readiness Review (FFRR), and Flight Test • Preparing information for CDR and FFRR

Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related engineering discipline with 7+ years of experience with Open-Loop Flying Qualities engineering • Experience with Open-Loop Flying Qualities development. • Experience with JSSG-2001 “Air Vehicle” • Experience with MIL-HDBK-1797 “Flying Qualities of Piloted Aircraft” • Experience with Airworthiness Certification • Experience with military or government programs

Desired skills • Previous military aircraft program experience • Experience working with international customers • Experience with Export Control Compliance • Experience with communicating cross-functionally • Experience with Aeronautical Design• Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to deal with highly complex and challenging electronic systems • Prior experience with new aircraft design and development • Prior experience working in or with the Korean government or culture
