Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Sr in Bothell, Washington

Due to the variety of the work products, the candidate will need a flexible and adaptable skill set, with a strong learning orientation. This position will perform detailed engineering design and analysis roles.
The candidate will need a product development mindset and engineering skills with experience in many of the following: opto-mechanical design, electronics packaging, 3D modeling, thermal and structural analysis. The role will include developing concepts using 3D CAD modeling software, performing analysis, holding design reviews, developing and releasing engineering drawings, and supporting change activities.The successful candidate will demonstrate a level of autonomy in mechanical design while contributing to the larger, broader picture of systems development. Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) familiarity with a history of successful product delivery a plus.
Must be comfortable within a rapid development environment; able to execute within short timelines and a given budget. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment.

The Locale: Bothell is a city located in the state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. Bothell is home to Cascadia Community College and the University of Washington, Bothell.
Basic Qualifications The candidate needs to have a strong mechanical aptitude and good problem solving skills along with an understanding of tolerancing and material properties. Component specification and vendor management experience. -Strong communication and technical writing skills and able to provide technical solutions to design issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Desired skills - 3D modeling experience in Pro/E or Creo - Familiarity with Mil Standards, ruggedized design and environmental test requirements - Opto-mechanical experience - Familiarity with ANSYS - Experience with design for manufacturing - Familiar with fiber laser systems packaging
