Lockheed Martin Systems Engineering Manager in Boulder, Colorado

This position requires strong negotiation skills and entails cost and schedule management (CAM) responsibilities for multiple projects. It is also expected that this position will engage in and be fully cognizant of the team’s products and services which are being produced and delivered to the customer.

This position will play an essential role on the SBIRS Ground Segment Hardware Engineering Team and will be expected to engage in the management and development of personnel to include performing candid employee reviews/evaluations. In addition, this position will be responsible for employee selection/recruitment, training, mentoring, time charging review/approval, salary planning, promotion planning, recognition activities and in general, maintaining a rewarding and productive work environment for this team. Further, the position includes technical leadership and execution of assigned projects. The selected candidate must demonstrate the Full Spectrum Leadership attributes: Shape the Future, Build Effective Relationships, Energize the Team, Deliver Results, and Model Personal Excellence, Integrity and Accountability. This position will play an essential role on the SBIRS Ground Proposal Team and will be expected to provide leadership on current and future proposal efforts. This position is expected to interact with the Ground Chiefs and Program Managers to proposed new business ideas and technical enhancements to the system for yearly modification proposals.

This position requires strong Systems Engineering skills and strong Program understanding that will enable constructive technical discussions with the Chief Engineer Office and all Associate Chief Engineers. This position requires a strong technical understanding of all aspects of the Program to act as a guiding force to ensure the Program development meets the Customer Statement of Work, System Requirements, and is capable of achieving Operational Acceptance.

The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet minimum requirements for access to classified information. The candidate must possess a current/active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI access.

Basic Qualifications

Systems Engineering experience

Must demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership skills

Current/active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI access

Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

Desired skills Minimum nine (9) years experience in Engineering, Business Operations, or relevant technical fields. Background in technology, engineering, hardware, planning, Familiarity with Space Ground Systems. Experience with Air Force Customer. Experience with large complex projects
