Assist in the generation and maintenance of AEGIS combat system equipment arrangement and interface documentation, topside models, and other products for shipbuilding contract packages; use AutoCAD on a regular basis. Support engineers as they perform analyses and prepare reports; develop and maintain databases as needed. Support topside engineers in preparing topside analyses and arrangement models. Support designers/draftsmen in building of library parts for use in products; track progress of all library parts and maintain library part database. Work with various CAD systems in converting vendor and shipbuilder information into applicable formats for use in design studies. Support ship inspections to validate Combat System equipment locations.

Basic Qualifications High School diploma, with additional technical training sufficient enough to perform detailed calculations, mechanical drafting and design work, computer operations, etc. One to five years experience in mechanical system design and use of both 2-D and 3-D mechanical design tools, including AutoCAD. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software package, including technical document editing, and developing and maintaining databases. Demonstrated communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Desired skills Associates Degree in related field. Two to Five years’ experience in use of 3-D modeling and simulation tools.
