Lockheed Martin QA Engineer in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Quality Engineer supporting the FBM Program. The candidate will perform as a Quality Assurance Engineer for FBM suppliers. Point of contact for suppliers and quality issues. Responsible for ensuring the proper flow-down of quality requirements. Interpret contract quality requirements and tailor the requirements for individual suppliers when deemed necessary. Coordinate and resolve issues with conflicting requirements. Review incoming Vendor Request for Information or Change (VRICs) to ensure correct type categorization. Responsible for ensuring root cause has been determined and effective corrective action is implemented to prevent recurrence of discrepancies. Disposition nonconforming hardware. Create and maintain inspection plans. Experience with the creation, reporting and analysis of quality metrics. Interface with program customer. Ability to work with internal suppliers, product centers, and subcontractor/suppliers. Utilize SSC ERP systems (SAP/EPDM) and MS Office Suite applications to perform day to day tasks.

The position will require occasional travel within the United States.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).

Demonstrated experience using standard Quality Assurance processes and procedures.

Desired skills Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience within Aerospace Experience with the FBM Program Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) Supplier Quality Requirements Supplier Management Quality Metrics Experience with SAP/ERP Experience with Root Cause Analysis Experience with customer relations Knowledge of Industry Quality Systems and Processes (ISO/AS) Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methods and techniques. Green Belt training/certification ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Master’s Degree Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must be able to work independently, as well as work effectively as part of a team. Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
