Lockheed Martin System Integration/Test Engineer Manager in Cape Canaveral, Florida
This position is the Test Labs Manager primarily supporting the Fleet Ballistic Program (FBM) at the Eastern Range (ER) in Florida. This manager position is responsible for the test personnel, equipment and facilities utilized in the MESSA (Mechanical Evaluation Surface Support Area) and SETA (Systems Evaluation and Test Area) operational areas at ER. Primary job functions will include interfacing with the Test Engineering Manager to develop and execute Test Operations in support of the FBM Program. This requires development of test schedules, planning resources and equipment readiness, planning personnel training and skillset mentoring. Also providing resources (primarily union personnel, equipment, lab space, coordinated support personnel, etc.) to support multiple projects that are led by the Test Engineering organization. Provide planning, budget, coordination and execution in support of major projects; support multiple program priorities including regular test campaigns; be responsible for multiple areas/buildings making sure all are in compliance, similar to the RAS (Responsible Area Superintendent) program; be responsible for a Safety First Environment to provide a safe working environment for the test operations employees; provide necessary training and skill certifications to the hourly bargaining unit work force, and perform performance reviews, staffing and promotion planning.
This position reports daily to ER’s Sr. Manager of Test and Documentation Services and is badged to SMD’s (Strategic Missiles and Defense) ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations) Sr. Manager.
Basic Qualifications • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or experience in Test Operations including leading of personnel • Minimum 10 years of System Test Experience - Previous schedule/planning of resources, personnel, equipment, budget execution • Security Clearance: Secret Clearance that is Current or previous clearance that is able to be reactivated
Desired skills • Previous FBM experience • Previous test lab operations and supervision of hourly personnel • Previous leadership of Union represented employees • Previous experience with equipment calibration and preventative maintenance • Demonstrated experience with Safety focus mindset • Full Spectrum Leadership training • Previous Certified Test Conductor training • Previous Quality MRB/PR certification
