The selected candidate will be the Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for a medium sized cleared facility. Responsible for performing in individual and team roles supporting all contractual security requirements in accordance with National Industrial Security Program (NISP) disciplines as stated in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM, DoD 5220.22-M). Responsible for supporting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in all aspects of the security program including, but not limited to, the development and administering of security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in support of multiple programs. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing and maintaining classified material and for granting personnel and visitor's access to such materials. Conducts security education classes and security indoctrinations as required. Investigates security violations and prepares reports of investigations for management and customers. Responsible for conducting self-inspection and customer/government compliance inspections with nothing less than satisfactory results. Creates subcontract DD254s, supports the design and implementation of standard operating procedures, OPSEC plans and supports the Counterintelligence (CI) team. Candidate must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently with the ability to articulate and present intelligent, decisive and risk-managed security recommendations.
Basic Qualifications Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). - Self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently. - Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Final Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
Desired skills Experience working in a Security related discipline (DoD or SAP programs) as a security representative with the ability to interpret policies (NISPOM) and other government security directives. Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) and National Security Agency (NSA) 3-16 regulations. Familiarity of Security related database usage [(Joint Personnel Adjudicative System (JPAS) and Security Information Management System (SIMS)].
