Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Sr in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The candidate will be assigned to the Combined Orbital Operations Logistics (COOLS) contract supporting the MILSATCOM System Support Team (MSST) located at Peterson AFB. The MSST is responsible for terminal operations and maintenance of the Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT) and other terminals participating in strategic operations as part of the protected MILSATCOM mission. Support to MSST involves on-site support to a geographically dispersed terminal population within the continental United States (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS).

The candidate will respond to MSST Help Desk calls, perform level 2 maintenance support, act as an AFCPT Subject Matter Expert (SME) offering engineering solutions as part of restoral actions, and perform Status of Health assessments of terminals and site surveys. The candidate will aid MSST in terminal maintenance and restoral of operations minimizing terminal outage times.

As part of level 2 maintenance support, the candidate is expected to have experience in AFCPT terminal operations/maintenance, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functionality, signal flow and general maintenance concepts to include utilization of various types of test equipment.

The candidate must work closely with team members in a dynamic and flexible environment, shifting between assignments to support changing customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications • Willingness and ability to conduct frequent CONUS and OCONUS travel • DoD Secret Clearance – Top Secret eligible • Test equipment experience – i.e. Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Comm. Analyzer, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Fiberscope, Breakout Box, multi-meters • SATCOM terminal maintenance experience • Ability to interact effectively with customers • Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired skills • Familiarity of AFCPT terminal operations, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functionality, signal flow and terminal maintenance concepts • Knowledge of the Milstar/AEHF strategic missions – i.e. ITW/AA Missile Warning, Missile Defense, DSP/SBIRS, mobile assets • DoD Top Secret Clearance • Current CompTIA Security + certification • Operational experience with Time Distribution Subsystem Preprocessor • Operations experience with Mission Planning Sub-System • Terminal Image generation and implementation
