Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer Senior Staff in Fort Worth, Texas

This position is with the Engineering & Technology Air Vehicle Systems directorate, reporting to the senior manager of the Air Vehicle Development team. The selected candidate will be the Competency Assurance lead for Flight Sciences in support of the LM Aero R2s. This position encompasses continuous improvement, technical support for the Aero Lines of Business (LOBs), delivery of training, and process development/maintenance in the following technical areas:

• Aeroacoustics & External Environment • Aerodynamics Configuration Development • Computational Fluid Dynamics (Propulsion & Aerodynamic) • Flight Control Law Development • Flight Mechanics & Performance Analysis • Stability and Control

The Flight Sciences Competency Assurance lead will perform the following tasks:

• Maintaining constant communication with the Aero LOBs to understand technical issues as well as staffing, training, and engineering tool needs • Coordinating cross-domain, cross-LOB integration support needs and/or personally supporting critical LOB tasks, as needed • Being familiar with the Flight Sciences work force across Aero, and understanding the related data in the SkillFinder tool • Developing the capabilities of the Flight Sciences workforce, including management of training curricula/course development, and provision of training • Developing and managing Flight Sciences-related activities funded by Direct Charging Indirect budgets • Developing and managing Flight Sciences-related New Business Funds/Internal Research & Development projects • Developing and maintaining Aero Command Media related to Flight Sciences • Supporting LOB Independent Non-Advocate Reviews and Independent Engineering Reviews related to Flight Sciences across Aero and other LM Business Areas

Basic Qualifications • Previous program experience in one or more of these Flight Sciences areas: Aeroacoustics & External Environment, Aerodynamics Configuration Development, Computational Fluid Dynamics (Propulsion & Aerodynamic), Flight Control Law Development, Flight Mechanics & Performance Analysis, or Stability and Control • Experience with the product development cycle as it relates to Flight Sciences • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering

Desired skills • Comfort and experience in reaching out and communicating with multiple LOBs and functions • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely • Must be a self-starter that can identify own tasking and tempo, with a desire to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It • Experience across multiple LM Aero LOBs, or multiple Aero sites • Experience in improving Flight Sciences efficiency, technical integrity, and affordability • Experience as a team lead or manager • Experience in identifying or developing Flight Sciences training, tools, and processes • Experience with the New Business Funds project management process
