Lockheed Martin Airworthiness Manager in Fort Worth, Texas
Manager of F-35 Airworthiness will lead a team of 20 employees responsible for F-35 airworthiness certification, flight clearances, continued airworthiness and other activities ensuring US and international accreditation and certification. This person will establish airworthiness strategy, planning, and continuous improvement to achieve government certification when needed for flight test, production, and sustainment. This position requires cross-functional internal and external customer JPO coordination, driving team to achieve submittals in support of flight clearance milestones. Responsibilities will include working with LM and JPO program offices to ensure alignment of LM proposals and contractual requirements with current airworthiness processes. This person will manage a diverse team and will be responsible for performance management, staffing, training, and development.
In addition to all of the direct team items, he/she must be able to integrate with multiple IPT tasks across the program including Vehicle Systems, Mission Systems, Chief Engineer Office, FSD/JTD, Production, Contracts and the Flight Line.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical thinking and business acumen skills, be highly collaborative, exhibit exceptional organizational skills, demonstrate proactive thinking, operate autonomously as appropriate, and produce superior work products under short deadlines. Candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
This position will report directly to the Airworthiness and System Safety Senior Manager.
Must have active Secret clearance
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a security clearance.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or above in an engineering discipline. - Experience working with JPO/NAVAIR/USAF customers. - Experience with leadership and management.
Desired skills - Must have excellent organizational, analytical, presentation and written/verbal communication skills. - Ability to lead/manage direct reports and to influence peers, superiors, other employees, and customers - Experience working airworthiness certification with internal technical disciplines and multiple international customer - Previous experiencing training and investing in less experienced team members - Experience leading and planning tasks for a complex organization with complex projects - MIL-HBK-516B airworthiness subject matter expert - Project/program management experience. - Experience with F-35 - Green-Belt/Black-Belt Training - Ability to communicate and influence customer expectations
