This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues.

This position is for a Systems Engineering Staff position assigned to the Lab Enterprise team responsible for the development, integration, verification and validation of a distributed mission training simulation. The candidate will apply Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Distributed Mission Operation (DMO) standards to simulation development and test life cycle. The primary set of responsibilities for this position include performing requirements analysis, system integration, system requirements verification, estimates based on system requirements, system performance validation, and investigating laboratory anomalies. This task includes analyzing system requirements and system designs, developing verification and validation plans based on systems requirements, and performing risk assessment. Responsibilities will included frequent communication with team members and stakeholders. Other responsibilities will include process requirements, definition and controls for complex configuration management and data management through numerous classification levels.

This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a Secret security clearance, with a current background investigation.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering-related field or Associates Degree with commensurate proven Systems Engineering experience - Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Distributed Mission Operation (DMO) standards and development - Experience in performing one or more of the following: system requirements development, system design development, system verification and validation plan development, system integration and verification, quality assurance, supplier management, risk and opportunity management

Desired skills - Master's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering-related field - Experience working in a laboratory environment - Experience with man-in-the-loop virtual simulators - Experience with aircraft trainers - Experience with the F-35 Air System - Knowledgeable using the following tools: DOORS, Visio - Strong communication skills both verbal and written - Strong oral written communication skills - Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills - Strong work ethic, ability to work with limited supervision, self-motivated
