Lockheed Martin Safety Engineer, F-35 Program in Glendale, Arizona
This position will be part of the aircraft maintenance team supporting the F-35 Field Team Operations (FTO) Interim Contract Support (ICS) operations at Luke AFB, AZ. Develops and implements the safety program to prevent and correct unsafe environmental working conditions using knowledge of industry processes and industry health and safety laws. Oversees FTO Ground Safety and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) contractor program requirements at Luke. Inspects associated FTO flight line work areas to ensure fire and safety equipment and facilities comply with required safety plans and applicable regulations. Investigates FTO accidents to minimize and prevent future recurrence. Perform spot inspections on related FTO Safety and FOD programs as needed. Ensures contract required safety practices are met. Provide Confined Space, First Aid,and HAZARD abatement training. May evaluate and/or oversee FTO contractors' performance ensuring safety standards are met. Interact with Lockheed FTO maintenance leaders on aircraft and personnel safety matters. Must be capable to deploy short notice travel for business, short or long term TDY to support customer requirements or FTO program requirements. - Must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), third (3rd), and weekend shift(s) dependent on customer requirements or FTO mission needs. - Physical Requirements: Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist during inspections or training events.

- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 5 years related experience or will accept 8 years without a Bachelor's degree
Related experience must be in the following skill sets: - Experience as 5 or 7- skill level in USAF Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC), Marine Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), or Army Military MOS aircraft maintenance discipline. - 3 years minimum experience with military flight line aircraft operations and associated safety program requirements. - Experience with Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Flightline Safety, Fall Protection, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) programs. - Experience providing On-the-Job Training
Desired skills Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
Understand application of safety principles, concepts, practices, and standards to include knowledge of industry and company practices.
Understanding of military fighter aircraft systems, aircraft maintenance activities and high tempo flight operations.
Prior fifth generation aircraft maintenance and flight operational experience a plus.
Ability to work in a diverse work culture environment.
Ability to work in a flexible schedule environment. Proven communication skills.
