Lockheed Martin ILS Lead / Logistics and Sustainment Engineering Lead in Grand Prairie, Texas

Logistics and Sustainment Engineering (LSE) Lead for assigned program responsible for all elements of LSE including Logistics, Technical Publications, Training, Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Maintainability, Human Factors Engineering and System Safety) and Configuration/Data Management/Design Services. Position is responsible for the technical excellence of products and services and to ensure the LSE team achieves all program milestones on time and within budget. Position is responsible for providing program support for proposals and new business initiatives.

Ensures technical integrity of the functional products through program phases (initial design, development, integration, test, production, fielding, and sustainment).

Plans, organizes, develops, and integrates program assigned functional efforts.

Implements functional processes, methods, and practices on assigned program(s)

Participates in requirements development for Logistics and Sustainment Engineering (LSE) scope of work.

Participates in technical and programmatic reviews and meetings.

Interfaces with customer and program office for area of responsibility

Supports the program's System Engineering Integration Team and Integrated Product teams for functional discipline

Participates in CCB and Screening Board for ILS Management

Evaluates functional product design and all changes to assure compliance with program and customer requirements.

Establishes the preliminary functional design criteria, specifications and engineering test programs for scope of work.

Ensures that off-program peer reviews are conducted to assure technical excellence of work products.

Participates in reviews or provides guidance and counsel to programs and management in area of technical expertise.

Maintains an understanding of projects supported by assigned personnel.

Assists program to understand tasks and skills/experience required to perform tasks

Provides timely communication and interface with functional and program organization

Reports status of technical performance, schedule performance, and budget performance

Participates in technical and programmatic reviews and meetings for subcontractor management related to area of functional responsibility.

Implements and monitors functional measurement plan on assigned program(s)

Responsible for managing functional facilities and labs that support program requirements.

Manages program budgets for assigned functional products and functional task responsibility.

Estimates, through assigned technical personnel, costs and schedule of functional activities to conduct a program or study.

Evaluates proposal package for conformance to customer requirements and technical risks.

Basic Qualifications Must have ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Strong technical background

A broad knowledge and solid understanding of the principles and analysis of all DoD Logistics and Sustainment Engineering disciplines including Logistics, Technical Publications, Training, Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Maintainability, Human Factors and System Safety) and Configuration/Data Management and how they interact with the other Engineering and Technology disciplines

Proven ability to work successfully across functional groups and with internal customers

The ability to lead LSE teams in a Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) manner and diplomatically exert influence on the business operations of the represented programs

The ability to personally perform detailed Logistics and Sustainment Engineering trade studies and analysis

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must

Additionally, candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups

Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements

The ability to interface with Engineering teams to jointly solve difficult technical issues

The ability to lead and manage the Logistics and Sustainment scope (technical, schedule, financial)

The ability to interface with multi –disciplined Program / Customer teams to achieve Program Mission Success (Production Operations, Contract Management, Subcontracts Management, Quality, Business Ops and Program Management)

Understanding of the general principles of life cycle cost and associated tools / analysis

Ability to place the appropriate focus on mission success and the Full Spectrum Leadership imperative – Deliver Results

Control Account Management (CAM 101) training and understanding of earned value management system processes and procedures

Desired skills Engineering team lead experience in managing Logistics and Sustainment Engineering disciplines in the Development phase of a program (achieving System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design and Critical Design Review requirements)

Project management training, experience and successful track record

Strong interpersonal skills

Proposal development experience; Basis of Estimate (BOE) development

Control Account Manager (CAM) experience

Earned Value Management experience

Product Support / LSE Program experience in all phases of a program

Knowledge of and experience in the Product Support/Logistics and Sustainment Engineering efforts on IAMD Programs (PAC-3, MSE, THAAD)

Prior military experience

Missile system test and integration experience

System Engineering requirements development and management experience

Risk identification and management experience
