Lockheed Martin Ground Support Equipment Senior Mechanic in Greenville, South Carolina

Provides extensive maintenance coverage in the areas of responsibility by performing maintenance work necessary to prevent functional breakdowns.

Extensive experience in hydraulics preferred as duties will include maintenance and repair of equipment hydraulic systems.

May be required to perform major overhaul and rebuilding of machinery and equipment.

Perform diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance on equipment items described in the basic objective.

Determines methods and sequence of troubleshooting, repair operations, and modifications to equipment by working from manufacturers manuals, drawings, and specifications, installation layouts and sketches and verbal or written instructions.

Performs such typical operations as dismantling, diagnosing problem cause, repairing, mechanical servicing, and reassembling, installing and test operations of assigned equipment. Replace worn or broken parts, make adjustments and alignments as required, clean areas, and prepare equipment for full service.

Must be able to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and manufacturer diagrams and manuals.

Must possess diagnostic skills required to isolate and repair equipment malfunctions.

Basic Qualifications Must have 6 or more years of GSE hands-on maintenance experience. Must be experienced in utilizing mechanical tools of the trade, including diagnostic tools direct, and repair of the identified equipment as required by the essential job functions.

Desired skills Operate, maintain, repair, and determine repair and maintenance requirements of ground support equipment, vehicles, and aviation support equipment, including heavy equipment, diesel and gas powered equipment, aircraft power units, forklifts, and cranes.

Must be knowledgeable and able to perform equipment repair on heavy equipment, diesel engines, forklifts, vehicles, and other aircraft ground support equipment. Must also have knowledge of electrical troubleshooting methods and technology. Inspect equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot problems identified by users. Perform inspection of equipment following contractor or vendor repair to insure proper operating conditions before release to users. Perform periodic and annual inspections and maintenance of equipment, assists other mechanics in diagnosing and troubleshooting of equipment. Prepare required records and reports on all assigned GSE equipment, identify and order parts required, and provide assistance in training employees in areas of specialties.
