Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company is executing the Air Force’s ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Construct Reentry Systems/Reentry Vehicles contract. We have been the principal designer, manufacturer and sustainer of Minuteman III re-entry systems since the 1960s and have partnered with the Air Force on the land-based leg of the strategic triad since the beginning as the developer of Atlas, Titan, Peacekeeper and Small ICBMs. Flight Systems MK12A/MK21 IPT & L5 Leader shall be the primary customer point of contact for specific technical and programmatic issues related to specific IPT. Directs daily IPT activities of LM team members, ensuring the tasks receive the proper resources applied and tasks are completed in expeditious manner. Must be able to interface with technical and programmatic teams across multiple sites and direct/prioritize tasks and provide information to the proper resource. Ability to represent LM in support of customer meetings. Ability to provide engineering and technical assistance to AF technicians in test, troubleshooting and repair of IPT specific topics. Respond to documentation and test history research and support root cause analyses. Top level technical knowledge of IPT material required with a strong systems understand and knowledge of team and resource strengths. Ability to grow and leverage the strength of the entire team across multiple sites is one of the primary responsibilities of the IPT lead. The IPT lead shall work with the management of other sites to optimize the use of the entire team to successfully and efficiently complete the tasks of the IPT. Growing the scope of the RS RV Sustainment contract is a significant objective of the IPT through the excellent execution of tasks and pro-actively working with the customer to identify innovative ways to improve the sustainment of the Minuteman III RS RV subsystem. The IPT synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. The IPT lead shall perform functional management duties such as workforce planning, performance evaluation, coaching, etc.
Basic Qualifications • Excellent verbal and written communication (including technical writing); • Demonstrated Strong organizational, multi-tasking, communication, presentation and decision making skills • Demonstrated leadership experience • Demonstrated Excellence in people and interpersonal relationship skills • Demonstrated excellence in working with remote sites • Demonstrated team player • Motivated self starter who works effectively under tight deadlines. • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites with little notice. • Extensive experience in hardware/software development, integration and test within an Aerospace environment • Understanding of Systems Engineering • Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.
Desired skills • Previous experience with Air Force Strategic Programs designs and hardware, especially MK12A/MK21 flight hardware (e.g. Reentry system, reentry vehicle, and Aerospace Vehicle Equipment ). • Familiarity with Air Force production, TO and quality processes relating to ICBM or similar systems. System requirements development and verification; electronics subsystem design, analysis, and integration. • Strong leadership skills and management experience with ability to interact effectively with diverse program teams.
