Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer in Hill Afb, Utah

Responsible for EOs, drawings, RS Closed Loop Failure Analysis (CLFA) and Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Basic Qualifications Reentry system, reentry vehicle, and Aerospace Vehicle Equipment design and hardware experience • Excellent verbal and written communication (including technical writing) • Demonstrated Strong organizational, multi-tasking, communication, presentation and decision making skills • Demonstrated Excellence in people and interpersonal relationship skills • Motivated self starter who works effectively under tight deadlines. • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites with little notice. • Experience in hardware development, integration and test within an Aerospace environment • General knowledge of structural analysis and testing as well as dynamic analysis and testing • General knowledge of drafting techniques, experience with CAD tools and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5. • Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Desired skills Previous experience with Air Force Strategic Programs hardware and test methods, especially MK12A/MK21 flight hardware (e.g. Reentry system, reentry vehicle, and Aerospace Vehicle Equipment ).

• Familiarity with Air Force production, TO and quality processes relating to ICBM or similar systems. System requirements development and verification; electronics subsystem design, analysis, and integration.

• Familiarity with Aging assessment, Service Star, Closed Loop Failure Analysis (CLFA) and Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse program teams.
