Lockheed Martin Instrumentation Technicians and Lab Manager in Jupiter, Florida
Lead a group of technicians responsible for Instrumentation System build, installation, and support during flight testing. Responsibilities will span from the management of Instrumentation Labs, staff, tools and equipment to the fabrication, installation and removal of Instrumentation systems; and will also include the management of onsite (WPB) component calibrations. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for estimating, schedule control, budget control, staffing, employee mentoring and performance evaluations.
Job responsibilities will include:
• Leadership and continued development of an effective functional group. • Establishing new/revising existing standard work. • Development of estimates and the management of projects within assigned budget and schedules. • Support the development of Instrumentation build schedule and the appraisal and reporting of status. • Resolution of all schedule conflicts, and timely appraisal and reporting of the group’s efforts. • Management and development of staff to achieve objectives. • Development and utilization of continuous improvement methodology to achieve and sustain Enterprise Excellence standards. • Fostering effective work relationships within Instrumentation Engineering, Flight Test disciplines, program management, and Operations. • Enforcement and timely resolution of all concerns regarding EH&S, FOD, and Tool control requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring employee development and engagement, and will be expected to participate in a leadership capacity across the Development Flight Center in support of various EH&S, employee engagement, and Enterprise Excellence initiatives. Occasional second shift support and travel to offsite locations will be required.
Basic Qualifications BS degree in Engineering w/10+ years experience MS degree in Engineering w/7+ years experience
This position requires proven knowledge and experience within Instrumentation. Candidate must be hands on and demonstrate extensive experience within flight test. Excellent written and oral skills as well as computer proficiency using Microsoft office products is required. The preferred candidate will have 5+ years experience in flight testing.
