Lockheed Martin QA Engineer in Kings Bay, Georgia
This position will be an integral part of the quality team ensuring Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) processed by the Metrology organization located at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) meets established requirements. SWFLANT Metrology is a Navy calibration laboratory operated by Lockheed Martin. This position holds responsibilities for quality verification of metrology procedures, processes and calibrated TMDE.
The ideal applicant will be able to solve problems rapidly and will have excellent communication skills for dealing with a wide array of diverse customers. Applicant must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, have demonstrated leadership and have both collaborative and independent work process exposure.
As a member of the Metrology team the selected applicant will perform a variety of tasks, such as working closely with technicians, metrologists and leadership, performing in process and surveillance monitors, reviewing documentation for correctness and applicability to the Metrology organization.
Responsibilities include: • Documentation reviews related to internal and external metrology processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer • Trend identification, analysis and resolution of process issues varying from basic to very complex • Attending/leading corrective action meetings, participating in identifying appropriate root cause and insuring corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence • Performing assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings and procedures in accordance with AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025, Navy requirements and local command media • Providing interface with customers, suppliers and program personnel on Metrology quality related issue
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.)
This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the secret level
Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques
Experience developing and maintaining quality related performance metrics
Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other technical data
Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
Knowledge of configuration and data management
Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation, technical writing)
Ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external customers
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired skills Quality Engineering/Audit experience
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and / or CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate)
Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment
Experience working with Government customers
Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
Knowledge of industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO), Aerospace (AS)
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and the accreditation process
Experience with U. S. Navy programs
Prior Fleet Ballistic Missile experience
