Specific Job Description: The individual in this position maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Navy, local occupational safety and health regulations, ordnance safety, and professional practices and procedures to assure compliance and a high degree of employee and facility safety. Applies a general knowledge of the federal legislative/rule making process, the underlying occupational safety and health regulations as well as industry and construction consensus standards and practices in their daily activities. Integral to the work will be the conduct of trend analyses, audits, accident investigations, and field inspection of site operations, equipment and materials. In addition, the work will involve preparation and review of technical documents, developing and conducting employee safety and health training, employee concerns resolution, record keeping, precautions and procedures to specific job functions. Responsible for the recognition, evaluation and control of chemical and physical hazards arising in or from the workplace or facility that may cause injury, illness or discomfort to employees or citizens of the community. Complete comprehensive environment, safety and health risk assessments with specific conclusions and recommendations to management. Prepare procedures which promote the healthful conduct of all work practices and the prevention of hazardous or nuisance exposure potential. Support the development of Functional Failure Mode and Affects Analysis for manufacturing and engineering programs and projects. Conduct program assessments with recommendations for improvement and follow-up on implementation. Participates in and advises ES&H employee programs/initiatives. May be required to work Swing and Graveyard shifts on occasion. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role.
Basic Qualifications *Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Safety Science, Industrial Safety, Industrial or Facilities Engineering or other related degree from an accredited university or college. *This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security clearance, Interim Secret at start.
