Lockheed Martin Service Mechanic Associate in Kings Bay, Georgia
Perform tasks associated with preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical Support Equipment (SE) used in the missile production areas. The various sub systems of the SE includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and air conditioning components. Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine method of repair and assist in the identification of replacement parts needed. Perform routine electrical fabrication, testing and repair such as fabrication and repair of electrical extension cords, checking and repairing grounding systems, repair of SE cables including potting. Perform equipment modification/alteration using engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, diagrams, and electrical/mechanical schematics. Perform routine testing and/or checking utilizing electrical measuring instruments. Perform weight testing of select mechanical equipment.
May perform painting and stenciling of surface support equipment and missile hardware using spray equipment and/or brushes. Perform record keeping associated with inventory and control of shop, PAD and SPALT materials. Operate equipment such as forklifts, power trucks, pickup trucks, overhead cranes. May work with, or assist, employees in other fields of specialization when so assigned. Utilize the various computer applications to perform work. Make emergency service calls on equipment failure while in use. Perform assigned hazardous waste duties.
Basic Qualifications 1. Typically requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical applications 2. Must be able to read and follow maintenance procedures, repair documentation, and shop paperwork 3. Must be able to lift/carry up to 45 pounds and climb stairs/ladders to work up to a height of approximately 45 feet above ground 4. Must be able and willing to work during extended periods of standing, sitting, stooping, and working in confined spaces as required by the tasks performed 5. Must be able to obtain and maintain crane operator’s license and forklift operator’s license 6. Must be willing to work shift work and overtime, including weekends, if necessary 7. Must be willing to work with hazardous materials and around explosives as required 8. Must be able and willing to wear respirators for extended periods of time 9. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired skills 1. Equipment maintenance and repair experience 2. Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane 3. Experience and knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical systems 4. Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings 5. Demonstrated ability to read and strictly follow written procedures 6. Computer experience (i.e. MS Office, and IMAP) 7. Technical/trade schools in mechanical/electrical/hydraulics 8. General knowledge and experience working on air conditioning systems 9. Knowledge and experience of hazardous materials
