Lockheed Martin Aircraft Structural Mechanic II in Lexington, Kentucky
This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures’ manuals. Job requirements: must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
Basic Qualifications This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components.
This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally may be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
Desired skills Desired Applicant must have experience and ability to operate or perform one or more of the following: Aircraft structural experience in modification to include but not limited to structural TM/TO repairs, build to print assembly and installation. The candidate must have a common knowledge of tooling required for performance of aircraft structural work. Must be a qualified aviation sheet metal mechanic, employee must have experience in aviation sheet metal, hardware installation such as rivet installation, HI-Loc installation, etc. Candidate must have fabrication to facilitate plane side repairs. Candidate must have advanced sheetmetal skills that can work with little direction on complex modifications
