Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer in Littleton, Colorado

Plans and manages all aspects of composite hardware fabrication. Reviews engineering drawings and specifications, writes work instructions and supports composite hardware layup, bonding, assembly and repair in the Composite Development Shop. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans. Maintains awareness of daily/weekly tasks/assignments to deliver products within budgetary and schedule constraints. Works closely with shop supervision, technicians, MRP controllers, production leads and program to ensure successful hardware fabrication. Flexible work schedule - exact work schedule is flexible. Business needs may require occasional second shift and weekend support as needed.

Basic Qualifications Diverse composite/assembly manufacturing background. Experienced with composite fabrication as it applies to layup, bonding, and assembly. Good written and oral communications skills. Extensive Microsoft Office software experience. Must be able to work in a team environment with good organizational / communication skills. Must have a B.S. in a related field of study like Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.

Desired skills Strong composites fabrication and assembly background. Computer skills including MS Office software, and SAP/VECams (or other MRP/Work Instruction software). Experience writing work instructions for fabrication of composite hardware and assemblies. Good project management skills. Familiar with lean manufacturing and process improvements as pertains to composite fabrication. Experience with DFx (i.e. design for manufacturing, design to cost, design to schedule, design for assembly, etc.). Experience working with hourly personnel. Personal experience on a shop floor a plus.
