Lockheed Martin Materials Engineer Associate in Littleton, Colorado

Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments related to hardware assembly processes and testing. Assignments will include maintenance of M&P data in relevant databases and technical evaluation of manufacturing issues/concerns. Candidate will participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of M&P, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports and work with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement in resolving material or process issues.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Physics, Material Sciences and Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering related background or field of study. Knowledge of Materials and Processes for development, design, application and production Good written and verbal skills. Must be able to work well virtually with other sites.

Desired skills Ability to multi-task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines. Familiar with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including adhesives, bonding, cleaning, and manufacturing operations. Specific expertise with adhesives, films, coatings and paints, tapes, and thermal coatings and processes highly desired. Understanding of material properties definitions is highly desired. Familiarity with metals and composites are a plus. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite and SharePoint is highly desired. Familiarity with SAP, Share point and Q-Note systems is a plus.
