Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer in Littleton, Colorado
The candidate will be responsible for the development, technical leadership and delivery of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) used to support spacecraft manufacturing and assembly, test and launch operations (ATLO) work. The candidate will coordinate with a diverse work force responsible for the design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE in support of Program requirements. The candidate will be required to work closely with internal and external customers to build effective relationships, architect system solutions, deliver affordable, cost effective hardware and effectively manage projects in order to provide value-driven results. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong technical leadership skills, outstanding communications skills (both oral and written) and excellent customer relations. Responsibilities also include supplier coordination, operations support, and hardware non-conformance resolution. The candidate will be accountable for execution of program’s MGSE technical, cost and schedule performance. This position must be able to obtain a SCI clearance.
Basic Qualifications -Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 9 years of related experience -Experience in the development of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) used for the integration, test, transport and handling of spacecraft or other high value, critical hardware. -Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis -3D Computer Aided Design experience including modeling, drafting and release proficiency -Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T as well as industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems -Experience working in Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and/or Manufacturing environments -Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams -Success working in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules -Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills -Ability to support multiple projects, assignments, and customers simultaneously
Desired skills -CREO and PDM experience -Technical Lead and/or lead of small teams experience -Additive manufacturing experience -Design for manufacturability experience -Experienced or trained in Cost Account Management (CAM) (Cost and Schedule Performance) -Experience with capital equipment management -Experience in process improvement development and implementation -CPE or delegate experience -Experience with Microsoft Project
