Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer in Littleton, Colorado
Mechanical Engineer for the Military Support Program Structures, Mechanisms, and Thermal Products team.
The candidate will be responsible for the design & engineering of satellite system hardware including spacecraft structures, thermal products, and mechanical assemblies. Specific tasks and responsibilities include the following. • Generate/update solid models using CREO, create/revise detailed drawings and release engineering work products in EPDM (Enterprise Product Data Management) • Review requirements from various sources (dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.), and ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the products • Must be able to work effectively in an integrated product team environment • Must collaborate effectively with program leadership, technical leadership, subject matter experts, peers, analysis, configuration control, procurement, planning and production
Basic Qualifications • BSME from an accredited university +2 years of professional experience; or MSME if less than 2 years of professional experience. • Familiarity with CREO or similar mechanical CAD tools for layout, concept definition, design, and drawings of mechanical hardware • Understanding of mechanical engineering design principles • Ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated organizational skills. • Able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI government security clearance
Desired skills • Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting and release in Creo/EPDM • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 / GD&T • Experience using CAD models as record of authority (Data Set Rating 4 and/or 6) • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications/tools/procedures • Experience working with internal/external suppliers • Experience with test methods, planning and execution • Experience with DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System) and Sharepoint • Active TS/SCI w/ poly clearance
