Lockheed Martin Military Space Mission Engineer in Littleton, Colorado

Manage and execute advanced program activities for the Military Space line of business, with a focus on SATCOM, OPIR, and related space mission assurance activities. Conduct operational performance and resilience analyses to support system trade studies for future military space systems. Develop operational scenarios and requirements for system analysis efforts and requirements development. Convert analysis results into guidelines for architecture development and system concepts and derived requirements. Translate user mission requirements, doctrine, and CONOPS into architectures, roadmaps, and system concepts that balance capability, affordability and resilience. Review relevant USG threat documents and conduct threat assessments to support resilience analyses. Lead resilience analyses, including the assessment of resilience values for a wide range of mitigation options. Conduct routine outreach with USG stakeholders in the COCOM’s and military Services to ensure solutions are relevant to future warfighting needs. Employee will conduct requirements flow-down and cost/capability trade studies, measuring performance and resilience of alternative approaches. Duties include development of operational mission information for multiple programs, evaluation of new initiatives for operational benefits, and development of program external communications regarding future capabilities.

Other duties include: Provide prioritized recommendations and direction for research and development investment activities. Develop and maintain system & technology roadmaps. Interface with Military Space senior executives and program personnel in gathering and compiling program data in support of campaigns and other business area pursuits. Coordinate with Business Development in the creation of strategies, campaign plans, and system concepts for new program opportunities. Develop and maintain customer contacts and support LMGA messaging to Congress, DoD stakeholders and military users across a diverse community including USSTRATCOM, AFSPC, Regional COCOM’s, OSD, SMC, NASIC, as well as the military Services. Provide input and support for preparation of proposals and responses to white paper requests, RFI’s and RFPs supporting new business initiatives.

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance

Basic Qualifications 1) Existing relationships with military and international SATCOM customers/partners 2) Strong communications skills – both written and verbal - to represent LM in a manner that enhances customer relations 3) Ability to forecast future requirements and market for military SATCOM and space mission assurance activities 4) Experience in architecting and developing requirements for satellite communications systems 5) Experience with the military space “consumers”, particularly the COCOM’s, and the US Air Force and US Navy space enterprises. 6) Experience in scenario development and translation into operational requirements 7) Expertise in SATCOM modeling and simulation, specifically with the USG DyCast system to design and optimize MILSATCOM solutions 8) Recent participation in Analyses of Alternatives (AOA’s) for military space missions 9) Recent experience with space resilience and mission assurance requirements, analyses, and threat assessments 10) Leadership experience 11) Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI

Desired skills Experience in budget and financial processes. Ability to lead and advocate for advanced program activities within the larger enterprise. Ability to coordinate with engineering and business development personnel. Military experience desired.

MBA and/or advanced technical degree desired.
