Lockheed Martin MSP Payload Director in Littleton, Colorado
MSP Payload Director - Annual Sales Responsibility = $200M / year - In House Engineering Management Responsibility = 100 equivalents - Subcontract Management Responsibility = > $100M/year MSP’s Payloads director leads the engineering team that is fully responsible for all phases of payload development from inception through operations support for all spacecraft buses in the MSP product area. This director must exemplify all five imperatives of full spectrum leadership and as well as ensure that the entire payload organization embodies these imperatives. The payload director must understand the full technical breadth associated with integrating payload subsystems into a system, possess the business savvy to manage both subcontractor and Government contracting, and have the attention to detail required to develop high reliability space hardware using the processes and tools of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. The Payload Director is the primary senior customer contact and the primary contact for Aerospace Corporation and SETA consultants for status on all spacecraft payload activities. This position is responsible for leading payload review sessions spanning cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Basic Qualifications •Active SBI clearance •Engineering Degree (Electrical preferred) •Demonstrated ability to define and enforce an producible/ affordable technical spacecraft baseline •Minimum 5 years of demonstrated successful full spectrum leadership of a multi-disciplinary team •Demonstrated experience in leading anomaly resolution in support of system integration (flight hardware/software) •Demonstrated experience with large subcontract management (>$75M), or •Demonstrated Program Management of programs >$100M and teams greater than 75 •Demonstrated experience with the PPM imperatives, specifically earned value management •Demonstrated experience leading engineering design and analysis from CDR to delivery •Demonstrated ability to create streamlined, agile execution plans and deliver high value solutions •Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills (with peers, subordinates, senior leadership, customer and their consultants) with the ability to establish critical trust relationships through professionalism, respectful treatment of all employees and, by delivering on commitments.
Desired skills •Possess a working knowledge of all engineering disciplines required for integrating subsystems into a high reliability spacecraft •Demonstrated ability to establish and reinforce an environment of attention to details (design reviews, failure analysis, etc.) both in and out of house •Demonstrated knowledge of SSC Major Functional Organizations initiatives for commonality and productivity improvements •Demonstrated strong customer and supply chain relationships •Demonstrated ability to make balanced, timely decisions •Experience in state of practice digital technologies (ASICs, MMICs) •MSP Mission Experience
