The selected candidate will work as an embedded real-time software engineer in support of the Space Systems Company Testbeds and Simulation product line. The lab contains many real-time simulators and testbeds representing spacecraft components and I/O data busses as well as Command & Data Handling (C&DH) avionics executing spacecraft flight software against robust simulation software models of spacecraft components. Individual should have experience with various operating systems, IDE's and programming languages. Duties include software development using a C++-based real-time simulation framework. Other tasks include modification and development of embedded code for integrating existing spacecraft component models as well as the development, test, and validation of new spacecraft or space environment component simulations. Experience with real-time development environments, languages (C, C++, Embedded C++, Python), and debuggers is desirable.
Basic Qualifications Masters degree in an Engineering or related field or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience. This individual must be proficient in C/C++ programming. Experience and knowledge of spacecraft subsystems. Experience with Linux programming.
Desired skills Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Applied Math, Physics or Computer Science is preferred. Experience in developing on RedHawk Linux Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, VHDL and LabVIEW. Experience working in a Windows, VxWorks or Solaris environments is desirable. Experience with other programming languages such as Java, Python or Fortran is also desirable.
