Lockheed Martin Software Engineering Mgr in Littleton, Colorado
This is a Full Spectrum Leadership position for the Lucy program in Deep Space Exploration, focused on building, leading, and managing an integrated team of software engineers. This position will have execution responsibility for delivery of the Lucy Software products, including Flight Software, Simulation Software, Board and Box testset software, EGSE software and SELTS. The candidate will be responsible for the software engineering in all phases of the software lifecycle to include requirements analysis and interface definition, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, system integration, and support to formal test and delivery. Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions; Lead the team to develop and deliver integrated SW products for the Lucy program; manage tasking, budget, and planning for the team; manage communication with internal and external stakeholders and customers. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The selected candidate must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment to achieve long-range goals and objectives, in coordination with Enterprise teams. The selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform self-initiated assignments and apply advanced software development/debug principles and techniques, and requires knowledge of embedded flight software design, system integration, Lucy mission requirements, Lucy database architecture, and interaction, planning and coordination with multiple software development, spacecraft engineering and data engineering/maintenance teams.
Basic Qualifications Full Spectrum Leadership skills and behaviors 10 years of experience in software engineering 5 years as a software team lead of employees or project Demonstrated software-systems engineering, full software life cycle experience, and hardware-software integration capabilities Experience with software architecture development and the unified modeling language Experience with C/C++ language and object oriented methodologies Experience with COTS/GOTS software integration and hardware/software integration Experience with the Deep Space Missions Experience with the Enterprise SW initiatives Ability to support moderate travel Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to interact with the customer and build effective relationships
