Lockheed Martin Software Quality Engineer Sr in Littleton, Colorado
The LM Space Military Support Program (MSP) program quality team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer (SQE) that will be responsible for implementing software quality plans and procedures for the MSP Block III program as directed by the SQE Lead. Ensures contractual requirements, software standards, and Lockheed Martin standards are met. Participate and present materials in program level reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Software Review Board, Configuration Control Board, Engineering Review Board, etc.). Independently evaluates software activities related to software development (requirements, design, development, configuration management, builds, documentation, integration, testing and release of deliverable and non-deliverable software). Responsibilities include applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, programming experience, information processing techniques, and information gathered from system users, to enable the development of software processes. Ability to assist in the planning and scheduling of SQE tasks and activities.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g. Engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g. math, physics, chemistry, etc) required. - Ability to support multiple activities and tasks - Demonstrated capability to prepare and present materials at various program boards/reviews (e.g., Program Management Review, Critical Design Review, Preliminary Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Engineering Review Board, Configuration Control Board, Software Review Board) - Computer Science or equivalent technical degree plus 5 years of professional experience or a related Masters degree with 3 years of professional experience - Working knowledge of C/C++ and/or other programming/scripting languages - Demonstrated ability to evaluate software products (e.g., software requirements, design, code, test) - Demonstrated ability to evaluate software processes (e.g., planning, requirements development, Software Configuration Management, risk management, test, Formal Qualification Test) - Software audit and/or assessment experience - Ability to generate program level quality documentation - Ability to assist in the generation of Basis of Estimates and proposals for SQE activities - Knowledge of AS9100 and/or CMMI - Demonstrated communication skills (both verbal and written) - Solid interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team (building effective relationships, team player, delivering results) - Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products - Self-starter and demonstrated ability to set priorities and complete multiple tasks - Willingness to learn
Desired skills - Certified software quality engineer, ASQ (American Society of Quality Engineers) certification - Database experience - Experience with software development environments (e.g., UNIX, Windows, Agile, Rational, CASE tools) - Software configuration/build tools (e.g., Synergy, ClearCase, GIT or Bugzilla) - Hardware compliance evaluation and/or Hardware Quality experience. - Problem solving experience - Root cause analysis, corrective action and preventive action familiarity
