Will be assigned as Hardware Lead for the Lockheed Martin Australian Submarine Combat System (ASCS) Program. As Combat System Integrator (CSI), Lockheed Martin is responsible for design, development, and integration of all inboard and outboard combat system elements in support of the Australian Future Submarine Platform (FSM). This position will be responsible for technical, cost, and schedule performance for the inboard hardware solution developed to support multiple subsystems of the ASCS combat system suite. The candidate must coordinate with LM program office personnel, LM Australia engineering personnel, subsystem IPT leads, subcontract partners, US based LM RMS support staff and subject matter experts, among other disciplines to fulfill this role. Will be expected to become a subject matter expert on the system, the enabling technologies, and in the customer’s applications. This position is located in Adelaide Australia, with an expected period of 2 years, and possibly longer.

Basic Qualifications Proficient with electronic systems schematic interpretation, electrical and mechanical drawings, hardware architecture and design. Operation and use of standard test and measuring instruments. Willing to occasionally travel to support technical tasks, system installations, modifications, & testing. Possess good oral and written communication skills; and be self-motivated in performance of duties with limited supervision. Must have a track record of establishing and maintaining good relationship with customers. Able to lead complex technical trade studies in support of key decision making for the submarine systems. * Presentation & customer interaction skills * Effectively manage budgets within cost / schedule * Develop hardware products that meet customer requirements and derived requirements/technical performance measures

Desired skills Hardware Engineering experience with submarine electronics systems (Sonar, Combat, Imaging, etc.) Familiar with US and International military and environmental specifications, and qualification testing against military specifications. Experience with power system design, cooling systems design, hardware monitoring and diagnostics, shipboard rack and structure development, and electronics packaging and integration. Experience leading teams of engineers through product development cycles, from conceptual design through detailed design, review, release, build, and test efforts. Experience with trade studies, subcontractor oversight, specification development, risk management methodologies, design for manufacturability and design for unit production cost methods Experience with Engineering design tools Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
