With continued growth in the Targets and Torpedo business area, Lockheed Martin Sippican (part of the Lockheed Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business) is searching for a highly skilled staff electrical engineer (level 4) to join our growing team in Marion, MA. Having mastered the art of electrical engineering design in prior years of work, the candidate needs to also be an outstanding and very strong technical leader, with several years of experience leading teams of electrical engineers for a mixed signal system (primarily digital, but with some analog), which will likely be housed in a multi-slot card cage. This is a leadership position, not an individual contributor role.

At a minimum, the candidate must have a thorough understanding of board level design skill and be able to guide a team of engineers in all phases of development, DVT, integration and test, first article testing, and qualification testing, and manufacturing support. To convey accomplishments in the field, the candidate must be able to reference a sustained history of many successful electronic designs and effective leadership. Evidence of such will be projects which were on cost and schedule.

The successful person will be proficient in communicating upward to program leads and senior managers, but also downward, to the individual contributors on the team being led. The candidate must be highly engaged with program leaders, customers, other services impacting development and test such as drafting, sourcing, safety, manufacturing, etc. Additionally, the person must have great foresight concerning future tasks, so as to keep the team functioning in the most effective manner.

It is essential that the person be expert with Control Account Management for defense contractors. Some of these responsibilities include schedule planning and status, measurement of accomplishment, actual cost collection, variance analysis and resultant corrective action, and estimating costs at completion. It is the point where technical scope, schedule, and budget are integrated.

Other responsibilities include the writing sound test plans, procedures, and reports; the ability to present to large audiences including internal management and external customers.

Frequent overtime and occasional travel will be required.

Basic Qualifications The qualified candidate must have: 1 US Citizenship 2. Possess the ability to obtain a secret (or higher) security clearance 3. A minimum of a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree 4. Many years of sound digital, high speed digital logic and signal integrity experience 5. Strong theoretical and practical experience 6. Outstanding ability to multitask 7. Long and successful history of designing, testing, and troubleshooting 8. The candidate must have a track record of strong technical leadership, with the ability to motivate and energize team members in a fast paced and demanding environment 9. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills 10. Past use of logic analyzers, common laboratory engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, digital multi-meters, and other support equipment should be a part of the candidate’s history when he/she performed solely as an individual contributor 11. Mastery of MS Office suite 12. First article and margin testing experience
