The Torpedoes, Targets, and Sensors business area is seeking a System Test Engineer to join our team and work with our US Army customer on qualification of the Stinger surface-to-air missile sub-assemblies. The candidate will work closely with other engineering disciplines to plan, implement, and execute the test strategy. The System Test Engineer is responsible for reviewing requirements, developing test plans, writing test procedures, developing test automation scenarios, developing data simulation scenarios, performing test execution, and documenting test results.
Candidate is required to have expert level experience in integration and test tasks including test planning, execution, and documentation, as well as field testing preferably at military ranges. The ability to troubleshoot problems and coordinate other system integration tasks is of great value in performing these duties. Broad system knowledge including an understanding of the subsystem hardware and software capabilities in servo control, sensor capabilities, emitter capability, and safety related issues are very important. Responsible for customer presentations including performance results and schedule status.
Basic Qualifications - Strong technical leadership skills - Subsystems and system assembly & test - Development of sub-system and system level test plans/procedures and associated test readiness reviews - Subsystem and system level test execution - Subsystem and system level test data reduction, analysis, and test reporting - Formal field testing experience on complex programs - Comfortable and expert at giving presentations and running meetings (sometimes in front of large audiences) - Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment - Travel to customer facilities and Test Ranges is required - Candidate must possess a current Secret clearance.
Desired skills - Strong systems engineering background - Detailed knowledge, analytical skills, and hands-on experience with electronic system design, test, and production. - Understanding of basic mechanical concepts - Capability to lead multidisciplinary teams - Experience with Cost account managing, scheduling, earned value measurement and collection techniques - Capability to establish and track schedules, budgets, and interfaces with military customers, vendors, and subcontractors for major components or sub-systems - Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the capability of expertly contributing to proposal developments and customer presentations - Ability to thrive in multitasking environment, supporting multiple programs simultaneously
