Lockheed Martin Software Configuration Analyst in Mitchel Field, New York
Software Configuration Management (CM) Analyst is responsible for the administration, control, and maintenance of the Mitchel Field Trident Media Library, its unclassified files, its Secret safes, its media usage logs, and its media databases. Responsible for ordering, controlling, and maintaining electronic media inventory for the Media Library. Responsible for the preparation, control, and update of process documents (Departmental Operating Procedures) governing the Analyst’s job functions and responsibilities and the CM department’s processes. Assist in processing and tracking ECRs, PCOs, SPALTs, Temporary Modifications, and Waivers and Deviations to control changes to and describe variances to Product Configurations and Design Disclosure Package (DDP) documentation. Assist with monthly CM metrics collection, analysis, and reporting. Use of the Business Intelligence (BI) Reports to collect financial data in support of productivity metrics.
Responsible for building, copying, controlling, and providing Trident SSBN Docware (Technical Documentation) and Software for both in house and formal external deliveries on magnetic media to Navy land based sites and the Navy SSBN Fleet in response to Requests for Programming Action (RPAs). Familiar with UNIX commands and environment and the use of ClearCase Software CM tool for Docware and Software control and builds. Preparing, processing, and tracking Docware and Software delivery letters.
Responsible for building, copying, controlling, and processing Solid State Drives (SSDs) containing Operating Systems and Software to LM and Navy land based sites and to the Trident SSBN Fleet. Processing of SSDs requires familiarity with handling ESD parts, understanding of engineering drawings, processing of Work Orders, and the marking of hardware parts.
Software CM Analyst serves as a liaison between engineers, managers, vendors, and customers managing data on unclassified, confidential, and secret information systems; and, tracking and controlling incoming and outgoing information transactions. Analyst creates unclassified and classified media; and, assists and/or performs trusted data downloads. Analyst follows LM security guidelines that includes use of the LM Security Hardware Configuration Management (HWCM) tool.
The Analyst supports LM, ISO, and government compliance audits and prepares responses and corrective action plans to resolve audit findings and improve Trident processes. Conducts periodic surveys of users’ media stored in the Trident Media Library for destruction of obsolete media.
This job requires a Secret clearance and knowledge of Security processes to avoid violations. The analyst handles, stores, and coordinates the destruction of Confidential and Secret documentation and media via Classified Material Requisition (CMR). Maintains liaison with LM Mitchel Field departments, which use the Library or Media services. Maintains liaison with Mitchel Field resident government representatives from DCMA, SPSM, and SP24.
Software CM Analysts back up the Hardware CM Analysts whenever those persons are out of the office or have an extensive workload.
Basic Qualifications Working knowledge of Systems and Software (SW) development processes. Working knowledge of computer based CM tools such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORS, EPDM, MS Office, UNIX, and Windows. Excellent organizational skills to handle the diverse and various tasks, files, and processes.
Desired skills Working knowledge of and experience with Software (SW) Configuration Management (CM), Dept. of Defense (DOD) specifications and standards, Trident SSP Instructions (SSPINSTs), T9001 Program Quality requirements, and the preparation and control of engineering specifications to DOD and SSPINST requirements. Knowledge of SP24 organization and customer. Experience on Trident SSBN Submarine program. Good communications skills.
