Lockheed Martin Moorestown, NJ - System Safety Engineering Intern in Moorestown, New Jersey
A member of the System Safety Engineering Team at Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ will be expected to support several engineering and program activities on various exciting and challenging technical projects. System Safety Engineers are responsible for performing analysis of the various products that the company produces in order to determine the inherent risk and ensure the safe operation of these products. In order to accomplish this, a standard methodology is used to perform analysis, which occurs in all phases of the development life cycle. Specifically, this Intern opportunity is intended to provide the candidate with a solid foundation in the System Safety Engineering discipline, while also exposing the candidate to other disciplines such as Systems Engineering and Radar Engineering. In addition, this opportunity will also expose the candidate to multiple products that the company develops.
Basic Qualifications 1.Candidate must have 3.0 GPA or higher 2. Candidate must the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level security clearance. 3. Candidate must be enrolled in a technical degree program in an engineering, science, or related field. 4. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to comprehend and work successfully with complex computer programs. 5. Candidate must possess good communication skills and be able to work with minimal day to day supervision. 6. Candidate must be well organized, take direction well, and be a self-starter willing to seek assignments and guidance. 7. Proven ability of working in a group development environment. 8. Excellent interpersonal, written, and group communication skills.
Desired skills 1. Familiarity with system engineering processes, including top-down design, requirements allocation/traceability, and integrated test approach. 2. Experience in working within an integrated team environment. 3. Experience with requirements database tools such as DOORS. 4. Experience with writing formal technical documentation. 5. Ability to interpret technical drawings, requirements, and documentation.
