Lockheed Martin Field Engineer Stf / Training Simulator Technician / US Expat Overseas Role / Japan / F-35 Program in Orlando, Florida

Foreign Assignment: This position will offer a long term deployment to a foreign country. Training System Simulator Technician (Field Engineer Sr) for the F-35 supporting the USMC at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan. Manages Simulator Technicians and directs all support activities to include IT Operations, Scheduling, and Facilities Teams. Provides Metrics to local leadership for all areas of the Operations Site to include Training Device availability/utilization. The successful candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of F-35 training devices. Install components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities. Position will perform, conduct, and document preventive maintenance checks required for the devices and associated subsystems. Candidate will update maintenance data collection records and assist with the installation and check-out of modifications to equipment. Maintains simulation devices to meet availability specifications. Applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents. Assists with installations, testing, and maintenance of F-35 software packages. Isolates and reports malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels. Documents and maintains cabling schemes and drawings. Establishes and performs maintenance programs following company and vendor standards. Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed. Complies with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F-35 program and customer procedures. Sanitizes all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established JSF and customer procedures. The successful candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature. Deployment and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the OJT required at Lockheed Martin’s training locations prior to international assignment. These locations may include but are not limited to: Luke AFB, AZ; Nellis AFB, NV, Hill AFB, UT; Eglin AFB, FL; Edwards AFB, CA; Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Yuma, AZ; Beaufort, SC. Iwakuni, Yamaguchi, Japan / MCAS Iwakuni The OCONUS Locale: Iwakuni is a city on the Japanese Island of Honshū in the eastern part of Yamaguchi Prefecture, bordering the Seto Inland Sea. Iwakuni is a great place to live and offers much entertainment and culture for its residents and visitors alike. The Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni or MCAS Iwakuni is located in the city of Iwakuni. Yamaguchi Prefecture is in the Chūgoku region on Honshū island. The capital is the city of Yamaguchi, in the center of the prefecture. The largest city, however, is Shimonoseki. Basic Qualifications Candidates must have a Final Transferable Secret security clearance, last Periodic Reinvestigation must be within the last sixyears. Candidates Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access. 3-5 years' experience maintaining and troubleshooting Training and Simulation equipment. Knowledge and experience with simulation hardware and software. Have the ability to read and use technical schematics, drawings and manuals along with other technical materials to resolve complex problems. Candidate shall have experience working on government contracts and interacting directly with military personnel. Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications to include Excel and Power Point. Strong oral/written communication skills. Candidate must have a current Security+ certificate or able to acquire a Security + certification within 6 months of hire date.

Desired skills 3 years experience with aviation simulation systems. Proven hardware and software support experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment. Have network troubleshooting and maintenance experience. Experience working in classified/access controlled facilities. Have the ability to brief/teach technical information to internal and external audience. Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership position supervising a group of 5 or more personnel in an environment subject to JFAN or similar DoD requirements.
