A Guidance Navigation & Control / Integrated Flight Simulation Lead Engineer is needed to lead the development of the GNC Algorithms and IFS of a supersonic missile sensor suite.
A Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer is required to develop and analyze GNC/Tracking/GPS algorithms and aerodynamic models. The GNC engineer will develop and test 6-DoF simulation models and simulation builds and perform flight software verification. Hardware integration tests will be performed utilizing simulations in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) facility. HWIL integration and maintenance will be required. A Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer assures that a platform is capable of finding its way to an intended destination and delivering its payload optimally. This is accomplished, in part, by performing Missile 6DOF simulation analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation analysis. Inclusive in this process is the development and analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms. In addition, development of simulation models and performing hardware integration is required. Performance verification and troubleshooting is also required. Target tracking is an integral part of guidance and fire control. The engineer will be responsible for designing target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association and assignment which is particularly challenging in surveillance systems.
Basic Qualifications Must have experience with feedback control system design and analysis and knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles. Strong math skills are required in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, and trigonometry and coordinate transformation. The candidate must have experience with state estimation filters such as Kalman, Extended Kalman filter (EKF) and multiple model adaptive estimation. Experience in terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation is also required. Must be experienced in MATLAB, Simulink and C/C++ programming.
candidate must currently have a secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.
Desired skills Familiarity with supersonic missiles, GPS, and Radio Frequency (RF) sensors is highly desired.
Hardware Integration and Test, Embedded Software integration and test, Radio Frequency (RF) /Electro-Optics (EO) Modeling, Mission Planning, Survivability, and ADA Programming experience are all beneficial.
