Lockheed Martin Lead Mechanical Engineer / Lead Mechanical Designer / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Design engineer filling SME/GTS type role for the AUR airframe design and packaging of sensors and modules into an air-launched platform. Update (or create) system level CAD models and use them to create drawings. Create and answer Engineering Change Requests. Support the missile buildups in Troy, AL to include Material Review Board efforts. Travel to Troy or suppliers may be required on an as needed basis. Experienced in Low Observable vehicle finish kits, carbon fiber composite properties, steel forgings, steel castings, and foam reinforced composites preferred. Experience using CATIA V5 and complex surface lofting is preferred. Good communication skills needed.. Work concepts and detail designs to fit Platform Requirements. Designer will work the design layout, and follow-up working with mechanical analyst to ensure the design meets all requirements. Additionally, the designer will work with the supplier during the design and manufacturing process to mitigate any production issues. Work closely with Mechanical Engineering to support all program objectives.

MFCREFER

Basic Qualifications BS degree or equivalent related education and experience. Experience with all aspects of mechanical design, including layout and design documentation. Ten to Twenty years’ experience of creating system level CAD models and using them to create drawings. Proficiency with CATIA V5 and SMARTEAM is required. Good knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical engineering is essential. Must have an active Secret Clearance for this particular job.

Desired skills BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent related education and experience. Experience in machined metals design as well as metal castings, forgings and composite layups is required. Knowledge of GD&T is preferred. Previous LMC experience is a plus and proficiency in CATIA V5 is essential for this particular job.
