Lockheed Martin Low Observable Design and Analysis Lead Engineer / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
This individual will be the Signature Management/Low Observables lead for the development of a complex system, responsible for the design, analysis, and test activities to ensure system signature performance requirements are achieved, and statement of work requirements are satisfied. Leads LO design, analysis, and test specialists. Manages the system signature design budget, coordinating performance specification allocations to internal designs and suppliers. Leads the development of component Radar Cross Section (RCS) performance specifications to ensure compatibility with system level RCS performance requirements. Coordination of complex Low Observable design aspects across functional, integrated product team, program management, customer organizations and test ranges. Responsibility includes managing Low Observables manpower, milestones, IMS, variance reports, etc.
Low Observable (LO) Engineers are charged with the task of assuring that IR and RF signatures of weapons and related platforms and subsystems are defined, minimized to specified levels, and controlled through the design, production and fielding phases of development. This requires the performance of design analyses, and related trade studies pertaining to material selection, platform configuration and IR and RF phenomenology. Low signature design solutions are coordinated and managed with the various program disciplines and with associated suppliers. Verification of platform low observable characteristics are achieved via comprehensive RCS testing conducted at both closed indoor ranges and outdoor test facilities.
Candidates for LO Engineer positions may have various experience and skill set backgrounds ranging from EO expertise to RF and MMW scattering phenomena.
Basic Qualifications RCS Section experience
Candidate MUST have a secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years
Specific knowledge of radar absorbing material, paints, seals, and their respective corrosion resistant properties.
Desired skills MATLAB, Simulink Knowledge of complex low observable design and material technologies.
Nose and conformal radome design and design awareness of radome, antenna and platform RF interactions.
