Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer / Composites / Process Engineering / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Orlando, FL to support the Production Engineering team.
Candidate will be required to support multiple parts/projects in a manufacturing engineer support role. The employee in this role will be responsible for process development, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts. The employee will create and maintain work instructions, assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. The employee will also assist with operator training, tooling design, and Lean Six Sigma initiatives. The employee will be involved in a number of different manufacturing process ranging from mechanical assembly to silicone bonding and carbon composite layup. This will include reading and interpreting technical blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering related field. - 2 years of professional work experience - Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming. - Candidate should have a good understanding and demonstrated application of technical and problem solving skills in the area of manufacturing and production. - Candidate should have hands on experience with building/assembling hardware, and the ability to clearly communicate instructions, verbally and written, providing clear direction for subsequent builds. - Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance -This position requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills in mechanical, electrical, materials science, or optical engineering. -The ability to translate technical drawings and specifications into practical manufacturing instructions are essential.
Desired skills - The candidate should have a fundamental understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts and how they apply to a manufacturing environment. The candidate should be able to work independently, but not be afraid to seek assistance when needed. The candidate should have a background in composite manufacturing processes. The candidate should know basic principles of hand layup and resin infusion using a variety of composite fabrication processes. The candidate should have some prior experience with mechanical fastening and understand GD&T markings. The candidate should be familiar with Pro/E or equivalent Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Experience with optical bonding/handling is also preferred. SAP experience
