Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Senior / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
Manufacturing Team Lead based in Orlando supporting JASSM production of electronics and subassemblies. This position is responsible for providing direction, communication, and execution plans to cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing sites meet/exceed quality, cost, and schedule business objectives. This position is responsible for continuous interface between manufacturing and program teams and communicates plans and status to various levels of program, functional leadership, and USG and Foreign Customers. The position requires an in-depth technical knowledge of advanced missile manufacturing, production processes, plus the oversight of capital planning and acquisition, yield improvement activities, test equipment, tooling, make/buy development, configuration change control, failure analysis (trouble-shooting), industrial/manufacturing equipment, process controls, and support of product quality/reliability on an as needed basis. Candidate will interface with Program engineers to ensure Affordability and Producibliity.
Other task include supporting production operations meetings, presentations and overall coordination events as required by the Prod Ops Management and also act as the liaison between Orlando commodity shops, Ocala, and Troy on an as needed basis. Candidate will be required to travel approximately 1 week per month.
Basic Qualifications Strong technical and problem solving skills in a production environment. Excellent verbal/written communications. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes in the area of building detailed assemblies resulting in written work instructions. Previous experience with the identification and development of special tooling leading to final drawings used to fabricate, accept, and prove-in on a production floor. Experience with trouble-shooting in process builds of complex hardware. Experience providing guidance to suppliers building sub-contracted products.
Desired skills Experience in production environments and technical knowledge in the areas of electronics manufacturing and testing. Excellent communication and presentation skills and demonstrated FSL competencies. Experience or understanding of production planning and control (PP&C), SAP or APECS MRP systems, quality management systems, collaborating troubleshooting resources, manufacturing/process engineering, equipment/tooling and facilities engineering, material/manpower management. The incumbent may facilitate self-directed work teams and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Incumbents are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations and understands how to monitor, report, and present team progress to all organizational levels of leadership across the site and program leadership.
