Lockheed Martin Senior Software Engineer/Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
This Software Engineer will support lifecycle development of a Lockheed Martin TLS program. The engineer will contribute to the development of software requirements based on project scope, technical specifications, and desired operational capabilities. The engineer will design, develop, and test software modules on a day-to-day basis. The engineer will fix trouble tickets as needed. Troubleshooting existing baselines will be necessary to ensure product quality. The engineer will collaborate with other teammates and other engineering disciplines to include hardware engineers, systems engineers, system integration, and program management.
The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. Central Florida is a great place to live with lots of attractive residential housing available. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.
Basic Qualifications Basic qualifications for this position will include a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience writing software code.
- Experience rehosting software from one platform to another.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
- Strong verbal & written communications skills are required.
- Strong collaboration skills are required.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired skills Experience or familiarity with any of the following skills or technologies is desired: - Unix/Linux platforms - Agile knowledge - Atlassian toolset
