Software Quality Engineers at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control act as an integrated member of the design and production teams supporting System Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Engineering and Software Suppliers. Software Quality performs process and product assessments, review requirements, design, code and documentation.

To ensure our customer gets the highest level of Quality, our Software Quality Engineers review contracts, customer requirements and witness testing events to ensure requirements are fulfilled.

In a culture of continuous improvement our department utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and drive affordability and efficiency. Working with an integrated team with includes customers, suppliers and other functional personnel, issues are identified, reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.

As a vital member of the team, a Software Quality Engineer at Missiles and Fire Control uses Industry recognized Quality systems such as Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulation to produce quality products.

Basic Qualifications Technical degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques

Ability to interpret Schematic Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of Hardware & Software QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics

Software Quality or Engineering experience in Requirements Analysis, Product Integration and Test

Good understanding of software dependencies, process flow and development methodologies

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex

Ability to interpret software design and code (C/C++) to verify implementation of requirements

Test Equipment Hardware knowledge or background skills

Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Ability to travel

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired skills ASQ CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineer)

Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration

Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems/models such as Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulation

Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Experience with Government customers
