Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced engineer with previous experience developing, testing, and fielding fast jet simulator programs. The selected candidate will work on a variety of world-class F-16 flight simulators for foreign customers in a lead role.
The selected candidate will have a solid understanding of the Systems Engineering life-cycle including requirements management, systems architecture and design, and integration and test.
The selected candidate must have previous leadership experience, earned value management, and ability to work with various levels of senior company and customer leadership. International travel will be required.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for this exciting position. The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. If you love long freezing bone chilling cold snowy winters and shoveling snow you will not enjoy your time in Orlando. Central Florida is a great place to live with lots of attractive residential housing available. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.
Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications for this position will include a BS Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field or equivalent experience/combined education and 14 years of professional level experience.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of weapons systems concepts is required.
The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. Strong verbal & written communications skills are required. Strong collaboration skills are required.
Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Previous development, integration, testing, and fielding experience on Fast-Jet simulation (F-15, F-16, F-18, or similar platforms) is required.
Leadership experience including Earned Value Management in required.
Desired skills C/C++ and FORTRAN computer applications familiarity is desired.
Prior International F-16 Simulator Experience is desired.
Experience with Requirements Management is strong desired.
Subject Matter Expertise with one or more of the following is strongly desired: - Avionics - Weapons - Vehicle Dynamics - Instructional Systems - Electronic Warfare
