Lockheed Martin Sr Systems Engineer / Link 16 / Military Aircraft / Owego, NY in Owego, New York
Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced Tactical Data Link J (TADIL J) Link-16 Systems Engineer to support the RMS Naval Helicopter Programs (NHP) business area.
The applicant should have experience integrating Link16 systems on airborne military platforms and have a thorough understanding of Link 16 requirements, including MIL-STD-6016. They should have hands-on experience with Link 16 terminal hardware, specifically the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) LVT-1, including cryptographic key loading and an understanding of the MIDS Interface Control Document (ICD), as well as with the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). The applicant should have experience working with Link 16 test tools, such as: Tactical Data Link Integration Exerciser (TIGER) and Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) test tools, as well as with tools for data reduction including Message Analysis and Data Reduction for the Integration of Links (MANDRIL), and be able to analyze hex data at the bit/byte level. The applicant should have intimate knowledge of Link 16 network design and the creation of network design loads (NDL). The ideal candidate would have operational experience working with Link 16 as part of a platform installation, as well as Link 16 service level and joint level certification test experience. The ideal candidate would have also have experience in RF/Microwave Communication Systems, a working knowledge of EMI considerations, and experience with the MH60R and MH60S Avionics Operational Program (AOP), Link 16 Middleware Application (LMA) and Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).

The Locale: Owego, New York is located about 200 miles northwest of New York City and about 75 miles south of Syracuse New York. Owego sits just north of the border with Pennsylvania and is part of what's known as the "Southern Tier" section of New York State. The region is home to Binghamton University and Cornell University. Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Experience with the design, integration, and test of avionics and/or ship system hardware and software.
Creativity and innovation, Good verbal/writing skills, Customer rapport, Interpersonal Communication.
Desired skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team as well as work as a team member. Experience working on Link 16 systems and familiarity with MH-60R subsystems. Knowledge of Link 16 standards, messaging and network design. Experience with RF/Microwave communication systems and EMI considerations. Experience working with NAVAIR, SPAWAR and JITC. Experience with the design, integration, and field support of avionics systems.
