Lockheed Martin Flight Controls Hardware Engineer/Advanced Programs in Palmdale, California
This engineering position is with our Historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California.
This position supports the LM Aero - Advanced Development Program as Aeronautical Engineer, Staff for the Flight Control and Vehicle Management Systems (FC&VMS) integration team. • Contribute to aircraft design, configuration development, feasibility and risk analyses, and technology maturation plans from the FC&VMS perspective. • Refine FC&VMS requirements, coordinating with other flight sciences disciplines. • Create procurement documentation (for Vehicle Management Computer, Air Data System, Actuation System, Inceptors, Sensors), and manage vendor selection and vendor performance, including verification of requirements. • Work system performance analysis assessments • Support component installation • Design mechanical and electronic interfaces to support software development, integration and test. • Define high level software requirements.
Good oral and written communication skills are required as is the ability to flex and adapt in a fast-paced team environment. Complex organization and documentation skills are required.
Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must have ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor or above Degree in a Engineering Technical or Scientific Discipline
Flight Control Systems/Vehicle Management System experience
Desired skills Experience with supplier selection and management (such as creating Equipment Requirement Document/ Specifications/Statement of Work and managing vendor selection and vendor performance)
Flight simulation experience Hands-on experience with system build, system integration, and test Supersonic air vehicle experience MATLAB, Simulink experience Experience with software configuration management. Experience in all aspects of the VMS development lifecycle: architecture, requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and flight test. Experience programming in C/C++ and embedded software. Experience with serial buses Demonstrated ability coordinating with systems engineering, hardware designers and subsystems
