Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Principal in Palmdale, California
This position is for the Systems Engineering lead on the Hybrid Airship program, an exciting new opportunity with the historic Skunk Works. Responsible for all systems engineering activities on the program including management of the SE IPT to include budget and staffing tracking, requirements decomposition, tracking, validation and verification, system architecture and operations concept development, risk management, program plans, master schedules, processes and documentation, configuration management, reliability, maintainability and supportability, EMI/EMC, tracking of parts ensuring environmental qualification requirements are satisfied and program reviews and deliverables. Responsible for supporting, briefing and touring the sales team, airship operators, and visitors.
Basic Qualifications Exceptional verbal and written communications skills Experience in Configuration & Document Management Experience with Requirements Development and Tracking using DOORS Systems Architecture development and documentation Knowledge of and experience with EVMS Previous experience leading a team of engineers Experience leading the Risk Management process Preparing for and running various program reviews Experience developing and executing program plans
Desired skills Knowledge of the ARM tool Experience with the FAA certification process to include test proposals and compliance reports Experience with ground and flight test to include interpretation of requirements, review of test plans and performing verifications using test reports Experience in software processes and software configuration management Experience with hybrid airships Field operations experience
