Lockheed Martin College Student Tech (Intern) in Shelton, Connecticut
This position will expose the candidate to change control processes and documentation used to manage a multi-billion dollar US military helicopter program. Change control documents integrate technical, schedule, and cost data into coherent plans to meet contract requirements. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with an interdisciplinary team assigned to develop and implement schedule baseline changes using prescribed templates, established procedures, and common tools. Typical responsibilities include assisting program leadership in computing schedule/cost performance metrics, developing schedule activity network models for similar statements of work, preparing and processing baseline change control documents, and analyzing and reconciling program earned value cost data to compute cost estimates at completion and corrective action plans to finish within budget.
Basic Qualifications The successful candidate must be a high-energy, self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and problem solving skills. Proficiency using MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint is required. Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through on assignments are essential. Familiarity with MS Project or other scheduling tools and earned value management is highly desired. Demonstrated team skills gaining cooperation of peers and co-workers not under one’s direct control is a plus.
This position is available immediately to students within commuting distance of the Sikorsky Shelton, CT facility who can work part-time (15 – 20 hr/week) during the spring semester as well as full-time during summer recess.
Desired skills Candidates should be pursuing a four-year degree in business management, marketing, science, engineering, accounting, or finance and have completed at least two years of college credits. A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required. Prior relevant experience as an intern or co-op student is a plus.
