Lockheed Martin Data Scientist Analyst Sr in Shelton, Connecticut
This position is critical to the CCAD ability to extract intelligence from fielded product data, and to develop recommendations for product and support improvements that will be delivered to the customer. The ideal candidate will leverage analytical skills and familiarity with military aircraft operations and maintenance to discover and investigate cost and readiness degraders within fleet data. Candidate will apply analytical tools and statistical methodologies to large datasets, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to understand and propose corrective actions. Responsibilities of the Analyst include the following:
• Leverage data-mining and statistical tools and processes to identify, quantify and predict consumption issues facing the H-60, and to pursue root-cause of these issues. • Contribute statistical and data-mining ability, as well as aircraft reliability, maintenance and operational H-60 knowledge • Communicate analytical findings to Program Management on a regular basis. • Perform Ad-Hoc analyses as required. • Ensure on-time delivery, quality, and accuracy associated with all outputs
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or related field
Highly skilled in Excel (experienced with formulas, macros, arrays, VBA – able to manage large datasets) Familiarity with aircraft maintenance, support and/or design (required). 4-7+ years experience in reliability engineering, aircraft maintenance and operations analysis or related field Strong interpersonal communications skills (verbal, presentation and written) Strong problem solving skills and an inquisitive mindset Must be comfortable in a matrix organization where key activities depend on a strong sense of initiative The ability to excel in a very dynamic environment Excellent executive presentation skills and MS PowerPoint expertise Focused on results Able to work closely with others in collaborative environment Driven to challenge the status quo and relentlessly ask “why” and “why not” Highly motivated
Desired skills MA or MS degree in similar field preferred Math or Statistics education strongly preferred
The Ideal candidate will possess the following: Experienced with the application of statistics and data-mining in business environment (trend discovery and analysis, text mining, correlation and pattern discovery, etc…)
